Ok...it's not the old Miles that you were expecting, nor was it meant to be. IMO this compulation represents is a good mix of Robert Glasper's Jazz Fusion Neo Soul style, with tasteful hints of Miles Davis updated for today, and intertwined into a Fresh Jazz Neo Soul Taffy for 2016. Just like one of the rules Miles lived, he did not believe in stagnation, but lived in an ever changing state of evolution. If you don't like the album don't buy it, but respect the Miles Davis Estate, Robert Glasper, and those of us that do. Peace to all.

This is a RG album with a Miles Davis spin, not the other way around. Understand that and you will really enjoy this album.

You don't get to dictate what Black people can and cannot do with OUR creations. This is a great album and Miles would be proud Thanks RG!

Create a groove, repeat it over and over, add light colorings over the top - the Glasper formula...

This album, in no way, honors Miles Davis. Robert Glasper is an inconsistent musician - capable of great things but also willing to make projects like this public. Aside from a couple audio bytes from interviews and a few music samples, Davis' iconic sound isn't even represented in this album. One very disappointed musician, here!

Just what Miles needed- to be made to play second fiddle to a bunch of vocalists who couldn't tie his shoelaces. I really don't understand why this needed to exist or what good it is supposed to do for Miles' godlike legacy. And btw this is coming from a hardcore fan who loves (at least some stuff from) every era of Miles, AND the remixes and reworks like Panthalassa and plenty of tributes, from Cassandra Wilson's to the Miles En Espanol record to Kind Of Reggae. This is just not good.

Just the fact that the title says Miles Davis and Robert Glasper diminishes the worth of Miles just as the new film has. It's an obvious marketing tactic and smart people are not going to fall for it, unless you're a Trump supporter. Nice one BlueNote, sell sell sell...
