    • A high point for both artists

Both of these greats occupy lofty heights, artistically and popularly but the synthesis here is different, complex and beautiful. A couple songs are clearly personal choices and delivered in each artist’s singular style. But most, and the album as a whole occupy a magical third space. As a side note, if you have really great speakers, turn it up and really listen to the amazing production which adds yet more layers to this complex and extraordinarily beautiful record.
    • Incredible Colleberation from 2 of the finest voices ever!

The 2 records the did with Dolly rocked and I knew this would be a jewel as well. I think I like it even more! Wish they had done a 2nd. You can really hear both of their influences evenly all across the board. I think it's one of the best balanced albums ever recorded but like most 90s albums from senior recording artists, it was lost. I love the haunting ballads'1917' 'Fallen Down' 'This Is To Mother You' & 'All I Left Behind'. Definitly worth checking out esspecially for die hard fans. With 2 women who can cross into any genre they choose without missing a beat, there is bound to be nothing but pure musical enjoyment.

I love this album…it’s so full of wonderful material performed with surpassing beauty by two of my favorite singers. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Great mix of two outstanding voices, Harris and Ronstadt. Worth it! (iTunes has misspelled "Tucson")

The production, with all the 80's echo, really puts a damper on what is otherwise great music, in my opinion. I suspect this is Linda's influence, as Emmylou took her folk/pop work in a modern yet still rootsy sounding direction in her later work.
    • 1999 and No Reviews?? Brilliant Album

Can't imagine anything less than magnificent from the two most gorgeous, timeless voices in country/pop. Add to this brilliant, complex, back-up instrumentation which give these songs strong rhythmic depth and backbone. If this were not enough, toss in top-of-the heap composers and collaborators (as always with Harris). I would have to disagree with iTines pick of 1917 as the "best" song; there are half-dozen others which equal or surpass it. Not to be missed.
