    • Soooo good

These people giving this less than 5 stars are on crack. This album is so funky, mellow, and psychedelic all at the same time. It feels like this is the album Ernest has been working towards this whole time.
    • Can I have my money back?

I had no idea Washed Out had released a new album last June, so I bought it without even thinking about it. I should've read the reviews, because now I want my $9.99 back. This was so disappointing. It should've been listed as an EP.
    • Don't bother

I bought all his previous stuff and love it. This album however is a waste. Every other track is a super short bit of mindless filler serving no purpose other than making the number of tracks twice as high as would be otherwise. Don't wast your money as most of the album is unlistenable junk. Just buy the only decent track on here; Hard to say Goodbye.
    • What's with the cluttered conversations and coughing throughout the entire album???

I have waited so long for new music from this brilliant band. Wow - I don't even know if this is the same band. Within/Without was one of the most brilliant albums produced in the last 10 years or so. Paracosm was pretty good. This one?!? I've rated it 3 stars mainly b/c of "Hard to Say Goodbye" and "Burn Out Blues" - both pretty good songs. Here's the real problem (in my opinion) with this album - what is up with the bizarre conversations and coughing (!) throughout most of the music? It totally clutters up the beautiful etheral mezmerizing sounds that this band is so good at creating. I think if they removed these crazy, disjointed, distracting sounds, the album would be great.....I cannot wrap my brain around why they felt these things necessary.??? After listening to this album, I had to immediately go back and immerse myself in Within/Without......

We get it. You smoke weed. No need for all the dumb coughing. As offensive as people who put crying baby samples on records. Otherwise it's more like a polished version of the first ep.
    • 4 years for this ?!

Washed Out is my favorite band! Or at least it used to be. Do we really need someone talking and coughing throughout the whole album? Half the tracks sound like a 12 year old messing around with sound effects on a keyboard. Should have stayed with Sub Pop records.

"Hard to Say Goodbye" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Much love!

I love this band. I've worn out my copies of Paracosm, Within and Without, and Life of Leisure. I've seen them three times, and I would follow them around the country on tour, if I could afford it. Needless to say, I've been waiting for this new album for what feels like a short eternity. And my only expectations were of contextual greatness, in whatever direction Earnest wanted to take the project next. The band returns to their lo-fi early days on Mister Mellow, which is cool in theory. There's a whole visual element as well, plus a trippy promo with the hilarious Kyle Mooney that goes with it. But in the end, the songs are the least exciting part of the album, which kind of defeats the whole purpose. There are 12 "tracks," but only about half of them are actual, fleshed out songs – and only about half of those are strong. Most are meandering and leave you wanting more, and not in an encouraging way. It's not Washed Out's best effort. Leader Ernest Greene is talented and continues to make some pretty great songs ("Hard to Say Goodbye," "Floating By"), but this album feels very stopgap in the WO discography. Worth a stream on YouTube with the video component, but not really worth owning (unless you're a completionist). Get Paracosm if you don't already own it. See them live 🙌

Million Miles Away is exactly what I expected from Ernest. So smooth, so beautiful! However, most of the tracks have way too many vocal samples on them which makes them unlistenable in my opinion. More music, less talking please.
