From the first piece, you can tell that the player is the highest level of professional. Caprice No. 9 is a stunning example of Dubeau's technical skill, and her recording on solo rivals Itzahk Pearlman in its quality. This is amazing

It's not everyday you get to hear a stradivarius! Thank you iTunes for introducing me to this.

AMAZING talent and artistic ability. I am not a fan of the way they recorded it though. I can't hear a lot of the resonating tones, it just doesn't carry for very long. It is not as "full" as it really could have been. She plays it very well, with the right articulations and everything. It would have made it MUCH BETTER if they had "mic-ed' multiple areas around her and did a little better job in editing with wind noise. Then again, you would have to have really good equipment to even hear any of this. Great recording for iPod, not so much for home listening. Overall, a very pleasant album!
    • AMAZING talent... Not so hot recording...

Angele Dubeau is an undeniably well accomplished violinist and nothing proves one's abilty better than a solo performance. However, she must have been miked on the soundholes or something because you can hear her breathing throughout the entire recording and I just found that a little too distracting.
