There is nothing not to like here. The lyrics, music, and production are perfect. I've always enjoyed Kansas and I also liked the time that John spent with Kansas. I've seen Kansas with Steve Walsh and John Elefante, both great singers and talents to be sure. While looking through John's work I came across this album. I went through the first song preview, then the next, and the next...I decided to buy the whole album. I am so glad I did, thanks for the great work John!

Just discovered this album and the Mastedon series with John - and I am blown away by how great the music sounds like 70's rock - and of course the lyrics are absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!!

This is a great album! Truly an exceptional performer! I can't play this enough. I just downloaded my second album from him. The world has a lot of talent, but the words are garbage. Christian music has a good message, but the talent sometimes is lacking. John has both!

If you're looking for an album with any filler or weak material, you've come to the wrong place. From start-to-finish, ON MY WAY TO THE SUN amazes, moves, thrills, and transforms the listener with soaring harmonies, brilliant arrangements, stellar musicianship, and heart-piercing lyrics. Every track is a revelation, and each repeated listen reveals new treasures. Casual fans may initially come by just to hear the astonishing opening track, "This is How the Story Goes" featuring Richard Williams and David Ragsdale of Kansas, and it certainly lives up to and exceeds all expectations. But that's just an hors d'oeuvre for the ensuing melodic banquet, filled with crunchy riffery, meaty rockers, and creamy ballads. The over-riding lyrical themes are of joyful life, overcoming death, entering eternity, and positively utilizing the passage of time. Songs like "We All Fall Short" and "Confess" have relatively simple arrangements and instrumentation, well-serving the gorgeous melodies. Other songs are intricately arranged and orchestrated. To me, the standout song is "This Time" which a gripping narrative based on the true miraculous story of the birth of John's daughter. The song features an exceptional guitar-hero solo, dramatic strings, and a choir. If you like Prog Rock or melodic Classic Rock, there is a lot to love about this album; it's got the quality and craft of favorite classics of the past, but also tremendous freshness and power. It's a record for our time, now, and for eternity. Overall, I simply have to say it's become one of my favorite albums of all time.

One of my most favorite vocalist of all time shows why. Not only is the message in the music great, but his voice still has it and the music is awesome.

I first found out about the song, "This Time", at a prolife Facebook page. When I listened to it, I was really touched. I was also surprised that John's adopted daughter, Sami, was almost killed by abortion. This song was a story about his daughter. John is hoping that this song will help end the practice of abortion.

It's been a long time since I felt the need to rave about an album and call it a 'classic', but I can't say enough about this one. John Elefante, as you may know, was the lead singer of the rock group Kansas. While not advertised as a Christian band, if you're familiar with their music, you know many of their lyrics could be considered very Christian. (Dust in the Wind, Carry On Wayward Son). He went onto go solo, as well as form a group or two, but more heavily concentrated on being the prolific producer he is. This album, in my opinion, is a must-have musically and lyrically. It's one of those that as soon as it starts, you know it's going to be great. I'm glad it's on i-Tunes because if it were a CD or LP I'd be buying it over and over again every time I wear it out.
